PENTALON AWARDED THE LIFESTART VILLAGE/FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER |

8/16/2002, DRAPER, Ut - Pentalon Construction has been awarded the contract to build the new LifeStart Village for the Family Support Center in Midvale, Utah. This project is a unique development designed to aid battered women and their children by providing three stages of housing including immediate, crisis shelter requiring no rent to apartment rental units and finally condominium units. The architect for the project is MJSA Architects of Salt Lake City, and major funding is provided by the state's Olene Walker Trust Fund, the Crusade for the Homeless, the United Way of Salt Lake and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The project, located at 8221 South Allen Street in Midvale, Ut consists of 17 Buildings and 39 units totaling 42,877 SF for the project on 3.77 acres of land. There will be two distinct parts to the project, the Family Support Crown and the Family Support Village. The Family Support Crown is comprised of four twin-home type buildings totaling eight units. The Crown units will be rent-to-own and feature 3 bedroom two bath configuraitons with in two levels. The Family Support Village is comprised of 13 buildings totaling 31 units including those in the common area.
A ground breaking ceremony is scheduled at the site on August 22, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Some of the invitees include Senator Bob Bennett, Mayor Sigine of Midvale City, Mayor Workman of Salt Lake County, Mayor Anderson of Salt Lake City, Mayor Snarr of Murray City, Olene Walker, Representatives from the Family Support Center and representatives from the Utah Housing Authority.
The project manager is Jim Riding; the project superintendent is Radny Venemon.
