PENTALON AWARDED WEST JORDAN ANIMAL SHELTER PROJECT |

4/15/2002, DRAPER, Ut - Pentalon Construction was awarded the contract to build a new animal shelter for the city of West Jordan located at 5982 West New Bingham Highway in Utah. The project broke ground on March 20, 2002 with a scheduled completion date of August 18, 2002. The architect for the project is Robert Palmer, AIA.
The new building will have 4,804 sq. ft. of heated space with a 385 sq. ft. Garage and 342 sq. ft. of covered area. The exterior of the building is a combination of wood frame with a cement plaster finish and exposed masonry with an asphalt shingle roof.
The interior of the facility will include an animal receiving and reception area, birds and mammals locations, dog kennels, cat adoption area, puppies and small breeds room as was as quarantine and cat and dog isolation rooms. Most of the floor area in the facility will receive an anti-microbial quartz broadcast floor coating that will allow thorough periodic cleaning.
The project manager is Jim Riding; the project superintendent is Ed Flower.
