5/24/2001, DRAPER, Ut - Pentalon Construction is the general contractor for the Provo City Fire Station #5, located at 275 South 700 East in Provo, Utah, being built for the Provo City Fire Department. The architect on the project is Thomas Petersen Hammond Architects and Brent Morris Associates, engineers include: Meridian Engineering & Surveying L.C. for civil engineering, Bsumek Mu and Associates P.C. for structural engineering, Heath Engineering for mechanical engineering and Spectrum Professional Services for electrical engineering.
The 11,260 sq. ft., $1,213,430 project consists three truck bays, storage and apparatus rooms, offices, six sleep rooms, a training room, exercise room, kitchen and laundry rooms and a police room. The building features wood frame construction with brick veneer for the office areas, concrete block with stucco finish for the truck bays and architectural highlights throughout.
A ground-breaking ceremony took place on May 9, 2001 which marked the beginning of the six-month construction period for the project. The mayor of Provo, Provo City fire chief, Pentalon Construction project management team and other guests were in attendance at the ceremony.
The project manager is Shay Johansen; the project superintendent is Ed Flower.
